About Ballroom Dancing: Ballroom dance, refers collectively to a set of partner dances, which originated in the Western world and are now enjoyed both socially and competitively around the globe. Its performance and entertainment aspects are also widely enjoyed on stage, in film, and on television.

At The White Rose Dance Academy we strive to offer a relaxed and professional atmosphere where every person feels welcome and learning to dance is a fun experience.  For those dancers who wish to make dancing a hobby, we also hold regular dancing assesments conducted by the United Kingdom Alliance of  Professional Teachers' of Dancing.   

We occasionally offer intensive workshops in different styles of dance. We're constantly making an effort to customize our dance programme so that it meets our student's needs. We offer group lessons that are small enough to get individual attention and in some classes, you don't need to bring your own partner. If you prefer individual tuition we can offer you private lessons.

We also offer Wedding dance packages so that your first dance as husband and wife can be choreographed to "Your Song".

While historically ballroom dance may refer to any form of formal social dancing as recreation, with the eminence of dancesport in modern times the term has became much narrower in scope, usually referring specifically to the International Standard (known also as the English Style) and International Latin style dances.
